Pictures from Vietnam -American Hardware Dial-up DEATH

Thanks for sharing. It's refreshing to see the weapon display is sanitized and free of anti US imperialist propaganda slogan.

Not sure why they put the wrong 3 tone camouflage pattern paint on the A1 & Huey. Otherwise, definitely a No 1 display of weapons used in Nam war.

Yes, bomb on the right is a Blu-82 daisy cutter used to create a helicopter landing pad in the jungle.

I've been to that museum.

Did you make it to the Cu Chi Tunnels?

They have a gun range on which you can shoot a bunch of different weapons that are left overs from the war.

It would have been more fun for me if I'd picked something other than an M16 that jammed on almost every round..

I agree with what you said above. Very impressive display. They obviously put a lot into it. Thanks for the confirmation about the daisy cutter bomb. Had heard of it but never seen it until now.

Thanks to the OP for this as well. Never knew something like this existed.

Just notice the Huey is on a rooftop. This is so reminiscing of the 75 Saigon evacuation at the US embassy.

Yes it is, but that chopper was on the roof of the former south vietnamese presidential palace the CIA headquarters have been bulldozed since the war. Yes I was at the cu chi tunnels Ill fired an m60 and m1919 unfortunately I didnt have much cash on me and the soldiers running the range didnt take visa lol so I ran out of bullets in a hurry. Ill add some photos later and some pics from Hue City (Think FMJ movie) and the war museum in Hanoi

Cool...did those weapons actually run? How many rounds did you buy @ $1usd/round?

The RO tried telling me to shoot on semi...haha, as if! :D

If I could do it over I'd go for the M14.

I didnt see any m14's just m16 Ak47 m1919 and m60, i shot 70 rounds, didnt last long cleaned out my wallet and didnt have enough for a bottle of water after lol.

The 'Keep off the Grass' sign in front of the daisy cutter & ordinance pile is brilliant. (That'll keep those damn kids off my lawn...)

Great pics!

I wonder how those FALs ended up in Vietnam. They look like an early Metric version, rather than Australian L1A1s.

When did FNC1s ever end up in either Cuba or South Africa? Cuba had some FALs that were purchased by the Batista government, some of which could have conceivably ended up in Angola and were subsequently captured by the South Africans, but those were Metric rifles made by FN in Belgium.

Likewise, the FALs in the picture appear to be Metric, rather than inch pattern rifles used by Australia or New Zealand.

Went thru that museum 6 yrs ago..still looks the same...but its definitely full of commie anti america propoganda! Drove my wife nuts as her dad was a General in the South VN army and she hates the commies.
Re firing guns at Cu Chi tunnels..it was ok..full auto jamming M16 but the barrels are tied down.
Touring famous battle sites like KheSanh, Hue, and even checking the old French pillboxes all over was cool.

If u want some real fun,, go to Cambodia..where for the same price you can free fire those and many more weapons and throw grenades. I shot the Ppsh on full auto the and M1 carbine and AK47. More fun than in Vietnam. Heck for $100 you fire an rpg!

Dirt cheap once you get there and pretty women everywhere....got caught looking a few times by my wife..
