Pictures of Cooey 600 side scope mounts please?

HaHa I was wondering if I was the only one with the scope mount on mine. Mine is slightly different though, with four small screws not like that. Is that a 600? My trigger guard is different and stock has the rabbit on it. Might just be newer. If you need I'll post pics tomorrow. I will say however that even with the old scope and cheap bulk .22lr this is one of the most accurate .22's I have ever fired. Mine has the heavy tapered barrel, and I love it. Best $100 I ever spent.

Back in 72 I was picking roots for a farmer for 80 cents an hour. When I got up to $25 he said I could have the $25 or his scoped model 60. Of course I took the gun and I remember making some shots so incredible with it I still can't believe I did it.

Still have the gun. I'll have to set my Brno #1's aside for once and give 'er a go with an accuracy test. :D

At 50 feet I just take 1 shot at a piece of paper. From then on I just try to hit that same hole. Good fun practice and from a bench it is amazing the accuracy I get out of her. I have a 12 gauge for grouse but I think I am gonna have to bring this thing with me for the woods. Headshots shouldn't be a problem. Save the 12ga for the field.

Thanks! :)

Poor gibbs' question about the screw-type was :p, however :D, sadly unanswered....;)

HeHe, I had forgot about that thread.... It turned out to be such a PITA to find info on getting a scope on my '60 that I just went and bought a new Savage MKII-FV and scoped that instead. The Cooeys are nice rifles though, and when I had a scope on it before, it was very accurate. Now that I have the "scoped 22" covered with the Savage, the '60 is my favourite and most reliable (by far) "iron sighted" .22 :)

The screws you need are #8-40. When I drilled and tapped my Cooey 60 for a #2 base I looked everywhere for a #8-40 tap and could not find one locally. Googled #8-40 tap and the first thing that came up was a Weaver tap for about 10 bucks plus shipping. I said the heck with that and drilled and tapped mine #8-32, but if yours is already D&T #8-40 is what you need.

I have a couple Cooey 60 projects in progress. I will post pics when they're done.

Sadly :(, CT doesn't seem to label 'em as you do..........:yingyang:

No worries. They fit the only factory D&T Cooey I've seen so hopefully they work for ya! They're in the mail.;)

First off :D, the screws worked amazingly! :dancingbanana:

Next :p, you're likewise awesome!

Finally :yingyang:, the pics....

My first fixed-power scope , btw - all the ones before it have been variables.....;)

Looks good. Glad to hear the screws worked for you. What base is that? I'm not familiar with that one. It looks like it positions the scope a little higher than the Weaver #2 base I used.

Let us know how she shoots.:sniper:

I got a 3/4" scope and mount today. On my savage it positions the scope directly over the barrel. Oddly the weaver #2 scope did not?? Anyways, looks good cyclone. I also wanna hear about the base.
