I went out today with my seven just in case they were really rested up from hibernation. They could be dangerous. I shot the four I seen but only recovered three. The snow is still a couple of feet deep.

I was four minutes behind you guys. I would have beaten you if I would not have tried to shoot more than one. I wasted about an hour. Next year I am coming home after the first one and not taking any risks. I have to win next year. LOL
 
Yes that is most of a recovered bullet it is just the copper jacket. I found it maybe ten inches behind the gopher. It weighs nothing so it has no energy to go anywhere. It was a 139 gr BTSP hornady with 62 gr of IMR 4831 behind it. It seperated completely and I don't know why.

Lot of gun for such fragile critters...then again they charge when wounded:D Congrats on the very first gophers!
