I was contemplating whether this could be in the pistols section or photo gallery. If it's inappropriate here, mods please move it to photo gallery but this seemed more active.

Interested to see pictures of handguns being used in war zones or in a military setting. Not necessarily in firefights, just being trained with, carried around, etc.
I love a pistol with some external wear and character. :) Pistols like the Hi Power, Beretta M9, Sig P226/8 and Glock, plus 1911.

I'll contribute a few to start:
Battle-patina M9 Beretta

1911s still used in modern affairs

Major DV Currie of the South Alberta Regiment (left of centre, holding a revolver) accepting the surrender of German troops at St. Lambert-sur-Dives, France, 19 August 1944. This photo captures the actions that would lead to him being awarded the Victoria Cross.

Top pic...booger hook on bang switch, bad form. The middle pic {blue back}, his right thumb is curled down for some reason? The bottom pic in the OP's series is how it ought to be done.

I don't feel entitled to speak to Major DV Currie's hold technique, however he wanted to do it is just fine by me...Thank you Major Currie.
