Piebald deer would you shoot

There was a piebald moose shot here in NS last year. FN community’s were quite upset .
I was actually at the gun shop/taxidermist when they pulled in with it on the truck.

I’d let them go. There will be others

I remember the full white one even I had pics of it
Not only the FN were upset and rightfully so the entire community was since people were coming to the area spending money in town for years from all over to get pictures and many many hunters left it alone prior
Not like there was no other moose to take some great hunter to kill that :(. It was almost tame
Then again looking at that face not a lot of clues left IMO looks like Mike from Canmore
Cheers

Sounds to me like you should have shot him.

+1.

I've never had the chance, but my brother-in-law almost sealed the deal on a beauty of a piebald last year, a real smasher.

I'd possibly pass on one because I couldn't justify the taxidermy expense, leave it for someone else who would.

But I don't care what Gloosecap or Manitou think, or what their alleged followers think. Only reason to leave them in the herd is so that they multiply.

I shot one this year actually, it's not bad luck, it's good luck, lucky that it matured, lucky I was in a situation to harvest one. Meat tastes the same. Oh and I got married this year, so white wedding white deer.

Piebald... the "other" white meat...

If it is a legal animal and taken under "fair chase" nobody should feel bad about taking it. They are neat to see, but it is just a deer... an old guy in our camp took one three decades ago... we all thought that was cool, the next day we skinned them out and you couldn't tell which one it was on the meat pole.
