Just finished up this build a couple weeks ago, only got to shoot it one day before going in to work for a week.

-The action is a Pierce short action repeater. I got this form juanvaldez of North Shore BBL's.

-The BBl is a #7 Shlien Select match 308 10 twist from Mystic Precision

-Stock is a HS Precision I got used off the EE

-I chambered in 308 with a PTG Palma Bisley reamer from winchester_070 of Bighorn Sales

-I did all the gunsmithing myself on my Busy Bee 12x36 lathe.

I am not a precision rifle shooter or a precision reloader by any stretch of the imagination. The main reason I built this rifle was to test myself. To see how accurate of a rifle I could build with my smithing skills,, as well as learn how to shoot and reload on a level I have never attempted before.

I chambered, screwed the bbl on, bedded the stock and put the only scope I had available on it a 2-7x33 Leupold

Here is the rifle.

I shot a few rounds of Rem Core loc factory ammo through it to get it on paper and do a little of the shoot-clean thing.

Then I grabbed some random Remington brass I had sitting on the shelf for a few years put a random charge of R15 in it and seated five 155 matchking to a random OAL. I also made 3 rounds with a 178g A-Max, again totally random.

Here is my first 5 shot group out of the rifle with my random 155g MK load as well as the 3 shot group with my random 178g A-max load. Range is 105 yards.

Yep, it shoots.

Good God Man....Great build....even better shooting!
Wait until you optimize the load and add some suitable glass.....bugholes here you come!

Awesome shooting, looks like you have a keeper, I as well got a pierce action from Juan a MI multi-flat comp, and a 7 contour shilen barrel chambered in 308. I left for work the day it showed up:( I had time to drop it in my AICS 2.0 chassis and tighten the muzzle break, I will be out with it the minute I get home, I hope I get close to the same results, nice work BTW
What did you through in for a trigger I used a Timney 510 set at 1.5

Sounds like you have a nice rig to play with on your next days off.

I put Timney in mine, set at around 2.5 Lbs.

You said you used a Busy Bee 12x36 lathe to do this build....that's awesome! WOW!! What a group..what a gun!! Congrats on a job VERY WELL DONE!!
...so apparently you do not have to have a 12,000.00 lathe to do good gunsmithing ;)

Whats next for ya ?? Let the games begin...we'll be watching ;0)
