is it legal to shoot pigeons in alberta? I have a farmer that wants me to shoot them on his property but have had a few guys tell me that it is illegal to shoot them. thanks for the help

Certainly legal and encouraged in Saskatchewan, can't imagine that it is any different in AB. But game laws are administered by the province, and could be different. Best place to check is your local Conservation Officer or Environment office.

Feral pigeons make very good targets to hone one's wingshooting skills. They are plentiful and completely biodegradable. I have eaten them on occation and would rate their table qualities on par with that of a lot of ducks guys shoot.

Exactly. No mourning dove season but feral pigeons are fair game all year, no license required.
Squab is delicious! If their grain fed, give a young one try. Cook the same as you would a Grouse or smaller Pheasant. You would pay a fair price to eat one at an up scale restaurant. So think of it as livin large at the farm!
