Pigs

When I hear some hunter friends talking about them all they say is "by the river" not sure if its north sk or south sk river but they must be near one of them

Maybe the wrong forum for this, but does anyone know where to find wild boars in southern Sask???

I'll ask the same question, but for south eastern Mb? I'm just dying for some wild ham & bacon!
Have gun - will travel.
I've heard that the Reynold's Ponds area has them, but I've spent a lot of time out there and have not seen any, not even one! I don't have twenty grand, but if I did, I'd have an 8 wheel wide tracked Argo and boldly go where no man has gone before, out there in that area!
Also, I've heard that Scanterbury has wild boar, but I believe that is all Rez land and it's posted: No Hunting, No Fishing. Please respect our land.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

north east of Tisdale on the Leather river system. Snow isn't helping find them yet, pretty well nocturnal here now. Had a 500 lb + boar on my camera a while ago but haven't caught up to him yet. He did move 8 miles in an afternoon!!!

Kinda reviving a stalled thread, but...there aren't many boars left in Manitoba. There used to be some up near Milner Ridge and Mars Hills, but I haven't heard anyone take one in quite a few years.

Now it's turned into a poachers excuse, with an all year season for boars, it is mostly used by guys needing an excuse to be out in the bush with rifles hunting *ahem* boars...

The last sighting I had even heard of was near Milner about 4-5 years ago. The farmer that accidentally released them has done a good job of cleaning them up.

wild pigs can be found i seen a few escapees here this year called the fish cops (thay were not completely feral yet so thay were not out for long)

heres the feral pig population map

I live about 15 minutes away from Reynold's Ponds (actually have a couple of sweet spots for grouse up on Road 13 there). I have spent a lot of time up on that road and have yet to see any signs of boar. Actually this year while grouse hunting, I have seen multiple wolfs, not a fun thing to see when you only have a 20ga and 7 1/2 shot. The last boar I know of that was shot up this way was about 2 1/2 years ago near Labroquerie during bow season. 10 years ago, they were around in abundance but most were eliminated and if there are some still around, they are really deep in the swamps.
