Hey guys,

Time to do up my Benelli.

I have in Plan so far:

Cut berrel to 18.5 inch with a Troy claymore muzzle brake.
Install a Leupold 1.5-4 scope.
Trail rail forend with vultor side mount bipod or GPS bipod pistol grip.
Dura coat the rifle.
Sling and maybe a laser for cool factor.

Any suggestions? How would you guys do it? I want a Spector dr but 1800 is steep.

I hope guys might see the potential in a mr1.

After 3100 rounds without a single malfunction and keeping all groups (when shooting on the bags ) within 2 inchs for half the price of other black non-restricted ar-15 mag good rifle, it does have a humongous potential, the tri-rail is on is way and with the LAR-15 10 rounds magazines with the coupler for under 1700.00 i have a big smile on my face... Cheers. JP.

Swap the leupold for a Vortex Viper PST 1-4 and you have my approval ;)

The shorter barrel and muzzle brake will be a nice unique addition. Are you going to keep the ghost ring sights on there?

Like the gentleman say a Vortex PST 1X4 is a very good choice... Mine wear a S&B 1.1X4X20 Short Dot PM 11 it is setup for the 223 caliber red dot and crosshair and top clarity and more dollars but it is a match made in heaven for the MR-1... JP.

I'm just going down the same road as you regarding MR1 customization...

I'm going to chop to 18.5" as well and MIGHT add a flash hider.

I want to go as short as possible, adding a flash hider will just add back that extra length i took off...

Tri-rails are out of stock everywhere...going to get one of those as well if they ever come in.

Probably get a thinner recoil pad to remove lop by any inch.

After the recoil pad and 1.5" off the barrel thats almost 2-2.5" of the OAL taken off which should be nice.

Still contemplating optics for this gun as well....probably something in the low magnification range...1x-4x or a 3x with CQB dot etc...

Might look good with armacoat or I might consider something fancy from cobra imaging...who knows...

Flash hidder contributes to over all length of 18.5 inch?

I could cut it to 17 inch and claymore adds 1.5 inch.

If you except the cool factor what is the use of muzzle flash my saying is more dollars on effeciency less on show of stuff... JP.

Actually what make the MR-1 so accurate is probably the 20 inchs barrel when i was in the States ( Pennsylvania ) deer hunting last fall i tried a 16.5 barrel and accuracy was less but overall look was better i have to agree on that, i have made a few sub moa group with my 52 gr Hornady reloads that is exceptional performance for a semi-auto, AR certainly capable of sub moa performance but the Benelli gaz system is a little marvel and talk about maintenance free after 500 rounds in a day ,couple of stroke of brass brush in the barrel, barely no copper deposit and light brushing in the gaz system (small paint brush) and that it... JP.

A little bit off-topic but... Where do you purchase the LAR-15 mags from?

John at Wolverine has placed a large order of XCR pistol mags in .223, 7.62x39 and .680 SPC, just have to wait they come in.

Ok, I decided to turn it into a sniper like the sig sniper. I ordered the parts and should have it build by mid august. Pics to come.

I'm going to mount a Redfield Revolution 2x7 with the Accu-Range reticle in Leopold Rifleman high see through rings. I know that the cheek weld will suck. If it's truly horrendous I'll go back to the drawing board.

Where are you guys ordering the tri-mount?
