Picked this up last year but haven't had time to do anything with it. I'm a virgin when it comes to modding AR's, so I'm looking for advice on what to do with it. I have a Leupold scope that fits nicely on it but I'm not sure it's what I want. Please make with the recommendations. Thanks.

Also, I really really hate the stock handgrips.

** edit meant to say handguards

Ger an optic or rear irons some 10 rnd mags and a couple k rnds shoot it then figure what you want

I would not go cheap on whatever it is you get

If you dont shoot it i cant help ya

The main change I make on AR's is a good trigger (Geiselle) and a good quality optic. If you twist my arm I'll free float the barrel.

Don't worry about "pimping" it. Don't add something for the sake of adding it. The more crap you hang on it, the less functional it becomes. (bayonets excluded of course, they are 100% required.)

I've never liked the factory stock or A2 pistol grip, and I'm not the biggest fan of the handguards, either. I swapped all mine out for Magpul gear (CTR stock, MOE grip and handguards). I like the feel much, much better, and it's still light and handy.

Really like that grey. Usually go with FDE, Coyote or leave it black but that urban grey looks really good.

Thanks for the kind comments. The colour is actually foliage green--the lighting makes it look greyer. What I like about Magpul stuff is that it's easy to install, solid-feeling, fairly inexpensive, as well as being well-designed, right down to the various textures on their parts.

KAC Enhanced trigger gaurd
KAC Ambi-selector switch.
KAC RAS or whatever.
CTR stock with enhanced rubber pad.
LAV Sling.
Trijicon Taoisn with docter sight. If going with this scope get the Larue Riser for your CTR Stock.
Tritium Front sight post.
Surefire Light preferably a scout light, with Larue or gear sector mount.
KAC rear Sight.Ditch A2 Flash hider and get either a DD or KAC one, troy medieval works well too. Yankee hill ones are good too, there are so many.

Pros A2 grip is fine, depending on your hands size perhaps a MIAD(Magpul Product) or a tango grip.

Paint your rifle like a real combat soldier does and shoot it like Rambo...

Take my word as gospel, if you don't have the money just through it on the credit card and cry later..

The Colt 6920 is about perfect as-is. Get an Aimpoint Micro-H1 on a riser mount and don't change a thing else.

If you do anything else, limit it to something like a KAC drop-in rails and a vertical grip, but I'd leave it be.

I agree about the Micro. I'll raise you a light.

Nice. Which handguard is that? I like it.

"Pimp" wasn't the right word. I don't really want to pimp it. But I did want lots of ideas.

Nice AR Rad! Almost perfect as is!

You! I have you to thank for this! Haha. ;)

Here are some pictures with the scope on. It's a very nice scope but I wonder if I'd like a red dot more. No experience with them, so I dunno.

The only problem I have is that the front sight shows up as a blurry image through the scope. Not a lot, just enough to be annoying.

Just my 2 cents for the OP;

Put a decent optic on it, depending on your budget and the range you shoot at, change out the furniture for whatever floats your boat and bank account, buy some 10 round mags, a few 1000 rnd cans of ammo, and shoot the hell out of it!!!!:D

Curious about something- do your 6920's say .223 or 5.56 on the receiver? What about the barrel? Many thanks!

My 6921 (M4LE 14.5 barrel) has 5.56 on the receiver as well. The myth of not being able to get a US rifle into Canada with 5.56 is just that...... a myth. My Armalite/Eagle Arms M15 receiver say 5.56 as well. Neither have .223 on them anywhere.
