Pimp your LAR mags, like a boss

What size magpouches do you use (regular USGI mag pouches, M14 pouches, etc)? I've been thinking about un-coupling my LAR mags and sticking magpul ranger plates on the end, but havent been sure about what pouches they would work well in...

I see you rollin'...I'm hatin' :D

Damn, we've got a malfunction at the junction here. :runaway:

BE WARNED - IF YOU PAINT YOUR LAR MAGS, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT THEY WILL REFUSE TO DROP FREE WHEN YOU HIT THE MAG RELEASE.

This is something I never even really considered before painting them. :(
Doesn't really bother me too much, but it may affect you.

I shouldn't laugh, but when you mentioned 3 coats of paint the first thing that went through my mind was "I wonder if they'll be too thick to release properly". But then I thought "Naw, he would've already tried that on one first prior to painting them all..." ;)

You give me too much credit.

2 minutes on a bench grinder with a brass wheel and I could have those stripped down to bare aluminum and start over.

Maybe I'll only do I coat of black and one coat of clear this time. :D

Do yourself and the police (which includes myself) a favour. Have the proper documentation for the mags. Painted or not, the documentation can do all the talking to the uninformed (which includes most police officers).

I'm not trying to insult my coworkers. Firearms laws are complicated and most of us get very little training in it. I personally keep the letter from the RCMP with my rifle and have the proper sections highlighted. It will make your life and the officer's easier.

Clear coat one sucker in bare aluminium just for kicks. Ooohhh... I had another idea: chrome! Maybe some gold for the bling-bling! ;)

I was thinking about doing a few in armacoat. That should look good and be thin enough to not have the issues mentioned.

I just had some shotgun mags powder coated. Nice and thin coating and they drop free, I may do my LAR mags next.

Also......neon yellow followers ONLY work with Hornady Zombie Ammo, any else, you'll get failures to feed! :)

Actually, the more likely charge would be possession of a prohibited device since it would come across as a rifle may without the lettering ...but carry on

LAR mags were made with a different profile than rifle mags. This was done on purpose so the RCMP would not just say they were exactly the same as rifle mags and prohibit them or pin them to 5. Hold one up against any rifle mag and aside from any length difference you will see a different profile. Easily identified when you know what to look for.

It may not help you with the Cop in the field arresting you but it would help you in court. Easiest thing to do is to not obscure the lettering in the first place.

fixed what? added a completely different song you mean? Did you even listen to it?

I know exactly what song you linked, when the song 1st came out it was my ringtone when my G/F called (now she's "bossy").

The song I linked on the other hand, has the exact same title as the OP's "catch phrase". And was probably the same song he had in mind when he titled the thread that way.

If not, then he was paraphrasing Rick Ross. Either way... :jerkit:

I just use my shotgun strippers. That way they do double duty. Have one double mag in a shotgun stripper on my belt and another double in my back pocket to put in the gun when I step to the line. 40 rounds covers most any stage I've come across.
