Put the forearm adapter in a vise (protected with rags or pieces of wood) and apply heat to the locking ring to soften the gallon of red-loctite Ruger uses. Then use a flat head brass punch or a large flat head screwdriver to turn the locking ring CLOCKWISE. Once the locking ring is separated from the handguard then the handguard should thread off easily. If you are putting on an AR free-float handguard then all you need is a standard AR barrel nut.

Me either, for the short time i held my Sr22, i was thinking about an aftermarket lightweight similar handle.. Weight does count after many hours of shooting.
Nice looking SR btw.. Im still debating reddot vs scope for my part

. I really like the look of it with the AR handle but like I said I'm not sure due to the weight. I havent had a chance to go out and shoot it yet so I'll have to wait an see
And i thought my scope was up high...
For those who obviously know more than me about the SR22, do you actually use a raised Magpul back up sights with a Vortex Strikefire or is it just for the picture and you have to lower the magpul sights to not block the visibility of the Strikefire ?
I still have 1 month to get my accessories and im trying to figure if i need a Magpul system or just go reddot/scope.

I like to rest my cheek not the side of my head to see down the scope, so I just measures and the scope sits 2.25" fron the top of the buttstock to the center of the scope, where does the center of your eye to the mid. of your cheek sit? mines about 2+"
I added the 1" see thru riser because I found the scope to low and awkward from day 1 and had a hard time seeing thru it, it worked out perfect, when I rest my cheek I look down the center of the scope now (did some figuring out out by just finding the most natural position then went from there). I need peep sights (for speed steel) but havent figured out what type as I might have the same issues (to low). I am thinking of the carry handle type as they sit way high like they should for the way it lines up for me, and they look frickin cool!

I've been going for light weight as these have weight issues, so I stripped of the Dlask rail I wasn't using, got rid of the flip down front handle and added the Tac Sol light weight barrell, this made a huge differance. I use the Bi-pod only while bench rest shooting. This thing shoots eyelashes @ 75'.

When the sights are in the upright position, they will cowitness with the dot in the strikefire, or you will be able to see thru the sight if the dot should die on you.
Strikefire (or any other RDS) can be used with the sights up or down.
Went out and shot the SR for the first time today...I have nothing but good things to say about it. It took a bit to get the scope sited in but once that was done...by by gophers
..also I installed the tuffer buffer and did the auto bolt mod while cleaning after...I cant wait to go out again...im sure that auto release is going to be so nice

I like your idea of rail setup.. more than enough for addons and no extra useless weight..
Where can you buy those rails individually or a kit with full top half bottom quarter sides ? Dlask custom order maybe ?
I bought mine off of Dlask's web site directly, he had 1/2 bottom and 1/4 side rails listed along with his four-rail sets and single top rails. The 1/2 and 1/4 rails were, IIRC, the same price as the individual full-length rails.
