Pimped SR-22R's

very classy SR22 build, great job. you nailed the perfect blend of tactical and practical, i especially love the A2 stock, the off set BUIS and the AFG1, who am i kidding i love it all. i finally got my hands on a first gen afg and wow does it ever feel better than the afg2

I prefer the AFG1 as well. I've had the second gen version but ended up selling it and going back to the first gen.

Overall I got my inspiration from the Stag Arms M3 race gun I saw in an issue of "The Book of Ar15". It also used to sport a full size A2 but the look was off with the short hand guard.

I figure once the zombie partridge apocalypse happens ... I'll be all set.

Sweeeeeeeet J-T

Hows she shoot? :D

Shot rather well with all things considered. I found that with the short RRA A2 Entry stock installed, it was very uncomfortable trying to shoot off of the bags. So as you can see by the pictures, there were a couple wingers. Trying to fight off the black flies was also a factor as well ... see the little black specs .. lol.

Shots were taken at approx 50yds off bags on the hood of my truck. I was very impressed with the off the shelf accuracy of the Dlask Stainless barrel that I have installed.

So I took off the RRA Entry and went back to a full size RRA A2, junked the fake Larue SPR and RTS sites and went with a solid set of high rings and I get this ... pictured with it's little brother. Serials are only 968 apart.

I bought mine from tuffer buffer, but they have long since stopped selling and importing 1022 parts.

Not sure of any other places that sell them. You could try brownellls website and see if they have and willing to ship.

are you sure these 2 can work together?
Is the .920" portion long enough?

Here's my Ruger. Most of the tactical gear came with the gun.

I added the Magpul MS3 sling and the RSA attachment as well as the fake "M16 like" magazine. I will be changing out the front handle to a Magpul AFG1 and also adding a set of Magpul MBUS sights.

For the time being the scope works well, but may be upgraded as funds become available.

This is how she looks with al the tactical gear installed

Does anyone know where to find an AFG1 in Canada, been looking every where and cannot find one. Where did you pick yours up jt_trouble?

You can try some of the sponsors, places like Questar, Wolverine, TSE can all get Magpul parts. The EE would be another choice.

I was impatient and I just got myself a airsoft knock off :D

Wow! Amazing thread. I just bought a Sr22 this weekend and am looking forward to shooting it soon (broke my clavicle and have staples in my shoulder so no shooting for now).
What do you guys recommend as a inexpensive scope or red dot sight? I'll use it for plinking and pest control when required.
I can't believe how much stuff is available for this little gun! So cool.

I use a bushnell TRS-25 on mine and love it! Bought mine on amazon for about $130 shipped brand new. Since it is under the $100 mark in the states you might be able to order it from down there.

I'm using the Bushnell Trophy 1x28 with 4 reticles (I just use the circle dot one). It's not terribly ###y, but it's solid and bright (it's the red-only version) and it holds it's zero. Every time I think about replacing it with a Vortex or something pricier I just can't come up with a good practical reason. I'll probably stick with it until I break it. WS sells them for about $100.

I've used the same red dot for years... very good quality.

the bushnell line of red dot style scopes has always been a winner for me on many different rifles including my SR22. My favorite is the Bushnell T-Dot. Great reticle with options for red or green and has the trijicon look that really suits the SR22. They retail in around $200 but pop up on the EE all the time for about $150.

Just an fyi, if someone else is looking for an Magpul AFG1 there is one left at north trail sports (aka technology direct in the dealers menu) after I bought mine of course. That is all, have a nice day.

If your talking about the Black one listed for $39.99 its an AFG2. The AFG1 is larger.

Pictured is the AFG1 in FDE(Flat Dark Earth) on the top and a AFG2(Black)

I have both AFG1 and 2's but prefer the feel of the AFG1
