Pin falling out of sight

I noticed this pin to be coming loose last time I shot the gun, a Ruger Single Six. I can put it back into place but I likes to shift around when I dry-fire the gun. How can I fix it?

take a center punch and make a small punch mark on the side of the pin. where it will not be seen and it contacts the frame. DO NOT dry fire a rim fire
firearm. It will damage the chamber and the firring pin.

Remove it and lay it on the back of your vice. Tap it with a hammer to make it a couple thou wider and reinstall it.

Get a bigger/proper pin, if you call the manufacturer they will be more than happy to help with matters like this, believe me pins that don't fit in the holes is not a laughing matter for them. Loctite or peening the pin is a very distant reccomendation on what looks like a new gun.

That'd be the pin that holds the sight in place. You can either peen the hole a tick, centre punch it, like HS says(quit dry firing it too), replace it with a slightly larger roll pin or contact Ruger's B.C. distributor. They'll likely want to you to send/take it to them though. At least they're local to you.

Not according to the Ruger New Model Single Six Manual.

DRY-FIRING: Going through the actions of cocking, aiming, and pulling the
trigger of an unloaded gun is known as “Dry Firing.” It can be useful to learn the
“feel” of your revolver. Be certain the revolver is unloaded and that the gun is
pointing in a safe direction even when practicing by dry-firing. The Ruger New
Model revolvers can be dry-fired without damage to the firing pin or other
components.

Like Fall Guy states you can dry fire the Ruger Single Six. The gun is 23yrs old, would Ruger still help me with the part?
