Pin Punch set advise needed

The cheap brass Princess Auto set is no bargain. The smallest punch curled up like spaghetti on the first pin. The second smallest one just bent a lot the first time it was used. The larger diameter punches should be ok if you're gentle with them.

I bought this set yesterday. Same thing, smallest is now in the garbage, larger ones have imprint of pin in the face where punch went down but pin didn't. Oh well, need to remind myself once a year why I don't like their junk.

Most of what Pricess Auto sells is Chinese junk, be very careful there. Personally I use Starrett, you get what you pay for. I am a machinist and I bought a short and a long set of their punches in the 80's, still got 'em. Only broke one and that was my fault.
