You just need to get the right drift and be VERY careful! I've seen many guys do this and in the process bust off the ears where the pin boss is. Knock it out from the right to the left (rear to the front towards the barrel)
i like to use a cheapo drill bit as they flex more than a punch. ***You must move the pin out to the rear . The hole at the front end of the pin is set slightly below the surface of the side of the receiver in many cases.... by design.
i have seen pics of a fellow's rifle where a standard drift was used and the fellow cracked the front retaining ear off of the receiver
after seeing that picture i started using those gold cheapo drill bits and a finishing hammer, just the right amount of flex to allow the bit to manouver the pin out . insert the shank and tap on the business end of the bit. remember, this pin must be removed from front to back of the receiver and instal is from back to front.
in hind sight i coulda showed you that one yesterday at the clinic
I know oldsmobiler has stated the oposite direction for the pin to be moved.... but..... that's why "i'm" building his M25LRB DMR LOL
it's o.k. Ante , you can smak me in the head later
dsynk , if you got time to drop by my place this week , i am installing one on a rifle of mine as well, give me a call man, we'll have her done in a couple minutes.
it requires a 3/32 x 1 roll pin and for those who want to use a punch, it is a #3 roll pin punch.
