Hey guys,

First off, let me say that the gun itself is super accurate, whatever the case may be. However, there is a high pitch "ping" sound when shooting/cycling/operating. I was wondering if you guys had an idea what that might be, and how to identify it?

Thanks

ok, so thats a good thing? It isn't self-destructing itself by something slamming into something else it shouldn't be kinda deal?

Ping means your flash suppresser is on tight so no need to peen it and yes the ping is a good thing. Ping is kinda like the tuning fork of the m14

Ahhhhh.... the ping! When the poodle shooter beside you at service rifle mentions that your rifle pings.....

Just smile knowingly and say "Ya, I know".

Up in the sticky(ies) are my YouTube videos. Or you could head over to Youtube and search for M14 University and you will hear my M1A PING like crazy whenever I shoot.

The barrel assembly in the rifle vibrates as ONE piece and the harmonics allow that slotted flash suppressor to PING out of pure happiness. :)

Found it. FAQ thread in the sticky top portion. Page two and post number 20. You will see my YouTube vids on there.

Cheers and keep helping them noobs out there.

I love the ping! When I rave about my m305 to fellow shooter enthusiasts that is one of the biggest topics I bring up

Question for the informed, is the ping a deliberate design of the flash suppressor for checking tightness or was it a happy accident that it happens.
