Pinned 10/22 BX-15 magazines?

When the 10/22 charger came out, the RCMP decided that all 10/22 magazines are now pistol magazines, even though they were originally designed for the rifle.

Pistol mags have a legal limit of ten rounds regardless of rimfire or centerfire.
Has there been any kind of law stating that? Or just an opinion?

This question has been asked hundreds of times and has been beating to death........:)

There is no law regarding the high capacity 10/22 magazines. This is only an opinion of a gun-hating OIC RCMP Officer.

The RCMP threatened and extorted most firearms businesses to believe it is law. They sent out their BS letter stating they were banned.

They are 100% legal to use. However, certain RCMP b@g-lickers will give you grief thinking it is in fact law.

I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV. Use common sense, be safe, keep a low profile, and one should be good.

The Liberal gun owners here on Gunnutz will start spewing their Liberal ideology in 3:2:1:.............:oops::ROFLMAO:

Pistol mags do have a legal limit of 10, yes.

The part that is up for debate is whether a 10/22 magazine is actually legally a pistol mag. There's lots of reasons why the answer could be "no".

But the RCMP says it is. So now, regardless of the true answer, these mags don't come into the country without a pin.

I remember about 13 years ago something about an internal RCMP memo that got leaked.
Something about not to lay charges for this unless there were other more serious charges,

Yes , I remember something to do with someone imported a charger into Canada, same thing happened when IRG imported the p22 ,handgun version of the mossberg tactical .22.
All just BS because both rifles were before the pistol.
Also , now that you can’t buy any handguns, that alone should change the made up rules as neither are commonly available in Canada

Any reasonable argument that "forces" the RCMP to consider that a ruger 10/22 magazine is not a pistol magazine but a rifle magazine. Is an argument that a LAR-15 magazine is not a pistol magazine but a rifle magazine.

At the end of the day the magazine capacity laws are stupid, but they are what they are.

Not really, if the LAR 15 mag standard was applied to the 10/22 exactly as it does to ARs, all 10/22 magazines that explicitly state "charger pistol" would be limited to 10 rounds, while all other 10/22 mags would have their standard (no) limit.

As a former police officer I remember this exact memo.

The funny part is there is no real law supporting this RCMP opinion.

As cops we used to say, "charge that idiot under the stunned c@nts act". Well the SCA doesn't really exist........:ROFLMAO:

Opinions are like @ss-holes, we all have one!.....;)

Yet the sheep continue to be afraid. FEAR is the new virus......:(

FEAR is control, FEAR is a virus itself. The Covid-19 Scam showed us this across the globe......:(

It's no different than one of the other saying's we used to use everyday as cops. Bull-sh!t baffles brains!.........

Pins fall out all the time........;)

Strange how a corrupt and tyrannical Liberal Government trusts a rivet (pin), more than they trust their own citizens........:mad:

how these greater than 10 round capacity ban came about was due to a former member named "little airwolf". He had ordered some BX-25 magazines from the US and they were seized at the border and he complained about it to the RCMP and sent them a list of all the +10 round magazines that fit the 10/22

If my research is accurate, there has been zero charges levied for possession or use of ruger 10/22 magazines since this RCMP "opinion". Infact, I'm pretty sure there is a fellow here in Canada who has been using them openly without pinning and inviting the RCMP to his range sessions so they can arrest and charge him ..and to date they have declined his invitations.
