Pinned Brake - Are they permanent?

Hey,

Looking at a 14.5" AR with a pinned brake and was just curious if bringing it to a local gunsmith is all I would need to do to get a different brake installed...

usually the brakes thread on, then are drilled through into the barrel, then a pin installed, then the end welded.

to remove, usually you grind/drill off the weld, the drill through/grind the rod, then remove the brake. best if you have a milling machine or not plan on re-using the brake.
