Is there any advantage between a regular 10 round mag for my M&P and a 'pinned' 17 round mag?

i.e. any difference in spring tension, ease of repair, durability (I read a different post that mentioned 'all steel' vs 2 piece mags), etc...

I want to pick up a couple of extra 9mm mags, but thought I'd better ask a few questions before shopping. Thanks in advance for the help.

I only use 10/17 rds mags. They load easier and are allot smoother to insert. It is very advantages for IPSC as mag changes are so frequent with our retarded laws.

The factory 10 rd mags need some extra effort to inserting and are a ##### to load. I see no difference in reliability, durabolity, or need for repair.

I do prefer 1 piece tubes as the 2 piece can break if dropped on concreate too much.

I had some 15 round pinned mags for my P-85 and they were much easier to load than the 10 rounders. Spring tension was easier as they were no where near fully compressed.

Thanks for the info guys. If my Newbie thumb doesn't toughen up a little I'll need to shop for the 17 round ones so I can load them. Terrible to be so soft!

Guess I'll keep an eye out for the pinned ones, & read a little more about how these parts are classified for importing. Thanks again!
