Pinning 10/22 mags

Most don't realize that businesses can't convert prohibited magazines into legal magazines; they have to be imported pre-riveted/pinned. So it's going to be an interesting to see what happens with this dilemma...

Exactly. There is no amnesty or grace period to make a prohibited magazine legal. If you were ever in possession of one, you could theoretically be charged for it. This case is extremely frustrating because no one is going to want to be the test case and risk jail time for a 10/22 magazine and there is no way to seek redress from the courts otherwise.

I just use my semi .22 that can legally take hi-cap mags. I can't afford the time and money it would take if caught with one. It's not like a 10/22 has dibs on accuracy and reliability.

Guidance from the CFO is that they don't want the 10/22 mag to be a standalone charge - ie all other things being OK, they won't charge (they may seize, but won't charge) which suggests a couple of things 1) they aren't sure of their position on this and 2) they aren't all that interested in the existing magazines that are here. The last thing the FCB (firearms control bureaucracy) wants is to be challenged in court and lose - especially the lab - because they've been unquestioned up to this point and if they lose, their "expert" opinion will come under scrutiny in every case. Any way, once the Dlask receivers and mags arrive, it won't be a huge deal.

CSSA talked about a class action, no updates yet.

AND they have now stopped providing updates in their emails that I get every few weeks. It used to say "we are very close to launching" (or something like along those lines), but now there is now more updates coming at all. It's just disappeared from their emails completely. I would guess they took all our money and squandered it, like the Trudeau government.

Why would you want a huge 25 round mag that is pinned to 10? Those things are huge, stick out and are awkward. If I'm limited to 10 rounds, the rotary mag is what I use.

I didnt update my membership for this reason...

Not sure if anyone cares or not, but I emailed the CSSA to find out where my money went, and why they have ceased giving updates in their emails. This was their response:

Hi Mr. X,

Nothing happened to it, it is just painfully slow.# We are about ready to file in federal court (My God, this takes forever) but are holding for a few more weeks to see what is in the new gun bill the Liberals have promised to introduce in December.# There have been persistent rumours regarding the inclusion of new magazine laws into the new legislation but honestly, it may be nothing more than rumour. We are about $30,000 into the court process but it makes no sense to spend the money to file and then be legislatively screwed a few weeks later.

I hope this answers your question.# If I can help in any way never hesitate to ask,
