Pirate Guns

One thing I did notice in my Loyalist Arms french trade gun was inconsistent bore diameter, I recommend you measure the bore before deciding on the size of round ball to use. I also found it heavier than what I think it should have been. But then again I could not afford any other french trade gun replica.

I might have got lucky with my sea service musket, the bore seems to be very consistent, the barrels are quite thick I hear on all of their guns, added weight but also added durability, it's a toss up I guess.

For the price I absolutely cannot complain, my biggest gripe is choosing what next in their very large selection.

Has anyone around here ever bought a musket off of militaryheritage? I know they don't drill the flash holes but besides that, do they function properly?, tuned locks, properly hardened frizzen's ect?

I know a guy at my shooting range who bought the smooth bore baker rifle replica from . If I believe he had to do some tinkering with the lock before he got it working properly. He also had a gunsmith drill the touchhole. Whereas my Loyalist arms fowler I had to simply install the lock into place, the flint was already in the jaws.

I was thinking more like this..

I personally like the m79 thumper just the way it came but to each his own.

Terminator Agree's. :p

I actually got to fire one of these once at a military range at CFB Petawawa.

With the corect sight setting, it was a piece of cake to place the smoke round through a normal bedroom window size opening at 300 meters.

Neat piece of gear indeed. (Thank You Green Berets!)

Real period pieces usually go for hundreds to thousands of dollars. Repro can even cost a pretty penny. Simpsons auction in Creemore Ontario often has stuff come up. Can bid on phone or online. Not cheap though.

Welp I just bit the round ball and ordered a French 1777 infantry musket with a bayonet and scabbard from loyalist arms, should be here in about 3 weeks. I will make sure to give reviews.

Nice!

With a couple modern guns on the way, I don't have money in the budget yet for the black powder pistol that I've got my eye on.

However, with time ticking down on the date for our Pirate themed Halloween party, I had to come up with something for the costume.

This Denix replica will be both alcohol friendly and make a cool display piece.

I'm thinking of getting one of these eventually, had a soft spot for them since I first saw them.

French model 1763/66 pistol.

Sturdy, easy to disassemble, mechanically reliable.
