Am I basically relegated to WSS and TSE, or are there any places that are less peripheral where I might have a chance of getting some quality 9mm (I'm looking specifically for WinClean or Rem Leadless)? No dice at the local Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire (not that I should be surprised).

Canadian BDX in Black Diamond carries some.

His web-site is w.w.w combatmasters.ca

Kurt is a great guy to deal with. Alot of the action shooters in Alberta buy only from him.

Pro line shooters has had Federal and Fibocci(?) on the few times I've been in there. They're not low-lead though, and it didn't look like they had cases of the stuff.

+1 on BDX.

I would assume it is cheaper direct from the source, and he will give you credit towards your purchase in exchange for your fired brass too.

+1 BDX

Don't know about leadless. You will have to ask. I have recently bought .40 and 9mm both major and minor. Discount for each 1000 of any one type. It has all gone bang just like it should. No problems at all.

ill have send some emails, see if extra 45 min drive each way is worth the savings (ie:will gas cost more than the savings lol)

i was wondering how good these reloads are, but seeing this many positive reviews means its a good choice

I bought some .40 from TSE and ran it through my Beretta a couple weeks ago and had no problems.

The only trouble is that TSE doesn't seem to have the Combat Masters stuff in on a regular basis.

Re BDX, top notch stuff for sure but dont expect to just drive out and pick it up. Sales to individuals have a min qty of 1000 pcs and must be ordered in advance.
Cheers

I just checked out their prices, and for 9mm it's about 66% the price of factory ammo. You save $100 on a case, so you'd have to live pretty far away for the gas prices to overtake that. :D

TSE's markup is very reasonable indeed but the problem lies with availability of the retail product. BDX is loading for contracts at present and getting retail stock out there is not as frequent as one would like. As posted earlier, you can order with BDX providing it is a qty of min 1K pcs, but turnaround time can be 2weeks or more depending on workload.
dB:)

I ordered BDX and picked it up at TSE. Paid TSE, not bad amrkup at all.....very reasonable. I live in NW Calgary and didn't see the need to drive out and get it. Great ammo, no issues with the .40 so far.

Russells seems to always have UMC 45acp and 9mm in stock over at the heritage location. 105$ for 250rounds of 45 and something like 50-60 for 250 rounds of 9mm.
Thats usually where I buy mine.
The canadian tire and walmarts that I have been too have had the worst selection for rifle ammunition, i have never seen ANY of them carry pistol ammunition.

Are some of the canadian tires actually good in this city?

The McLeod trail Canadian tire only carries the 250 round value packs for handgun ammo. They also have an impressive display of rifles and shotguns for sale.
