so im feeing the need for a pistol carbine to add to the collection, i know there are a few but here are my thoughts, if you guys can chime in with your own experiences/thoughts would be much appreciated. price point is <2000 and ideally no more than 1500. LCF is something i take into consideration, might not be practical but these are a hobby not my job so i can afford to

9mm AR--i do get an AR lower if i go this way, which is useful for more than one upper platform. lots of accessories and configurations as well to play with

B-T TP9-- have not shot one, but high on the LCF and i hear lots of good reviews on them. higher in price point

usc--$$$$$$ and .45 which is more $$$$, not really on the list of serious consideration as much as i like hk sub guns

storm--10 round mags are a plus, looks dont thrill me but price is great.

BXP--rarer, other than that i dont know much and need to be filed in

famae--once again price is higher around price of tp9, and seem pretty rare to get. looks bigger than tp9 so might handle better? need perspective from someone who has used both

that is all i have thought of, i missed any i should consider let me know. comments from peope who have used one/some/all much appreciated:D

Stay with the AR platform. Lego for big boys.

Legal 10 round AR mags are now available as well.

Beretta Storm ... the AR platform has some merit but way more bang for the buck with a Beretta, better ergs (IMO anyways), reliable, accurate and cheap mags to boot. The really big benefit is the potential to change to non restricted, just not an option with any kind of AR.

I have a TP-9 and a USC. The tp-9 is a very cool design for sure, well built and a neat piece of engineering. The trigger is the major drawback IMO being similar to a glock trigger only with a much, much worse pull. The USC I really like, it always gets invited to the range (unlike the tp-9). Maybe I'm just a sucker for .45 acp or maybe it's because it's an HK, either way the USC gets my vote. It will look allot cooler once I do a UMP conversion to it as well!:D

Dont forget thr Ruger PC9 series. They are not made anymore but come up for sale on here on ocasion for around the 500 to 600 price range.Very dependable and will eat any ammo through it.

Storm is the only way to.....
I had mine derestricted...total cost now would be $1200 or so....
10 round, non-restricted carbine....gotta like it!

9mm AR-- Your best option. Go for a Colt if you can find/afford it, if not RRAs are pretty decent. Just avoid Bushmaster's carbon fibre abominations at all costs.

B-T TP9-- Not really a carbine, but they shoot fine and seem durable.

usc-- A good buy if you can afford it. Extremely durable, I've seen one eat all kinds of ammo, even some ammo that KB'd pistols, but the USC ate the same stuff and just kept running, no malfunctions. Also you can make it into a UMP-forgery if you'd like.

storm-- Not a good option if you plan on using it a great deal. I've seen the plastic internals fail after much use.

BXP-- No experience, and again not really a carbine.

famae-- Decent gun, but if you like having lots of mags or if you plan on breaking anything on it, avoid purchasing the Famae.

Some others (including SMGs since your previous list included them):

PC9-- Shoots alright, some durability issues, typical complicated poor Ruger engineering.

BRS-- Good gun, shoots well, built well.

Rhodesian Kommando-- Neat gun, with some neat history. With the amount of plastic on it and its durability issues its more of a collector than a shooter.

Hungarian KGP-9-- Not bad, kind heavy, but well built.

Skorpion-- Great little gun, ammo is not as cheap as 9mm though.

***I didn't include the Tavor, Sterling Mk4, BD-38, BD-3008, PS-90, MP-7 because they seem to be out of your price range.

i wish i could get a sterling police but they are a bit pricy and rare

think ill go with the 9mm AR, lots of customizing to keep me happy, parts are easy and i can grab an extra upper or two in the future

I like the PC9 because it bears a passing resemblance to the M1 carbine, and I also hear you can fit it with a 18 1/2 barrel to make it non-restricted.

It also sounds like it is a well made gun.
