Pistol caliber carbines

Now if I was going to "upgrade" from my JR, a 10mm Auto would be the thing I'd want :)

The point made above about the lever guns is valid too. Something based on the Winchester Model 92 action would be the most slick, and the strongest. Years ago we had either a Winchester or Marlin in 44 magnum. It stomped good.
I have been looking at the 10mm for a while. Ammunition is the problem though, it is reliable with the anemic factory loadings but have yet to see anyone post about reliability with full power loads like those from buffalo bore.

Have you considered a fast handling lever or pump action pistol caliber carbine?

They have the advantage of being much less visually "scary" to metrosexuals, they pack a lot of punch in .357 or .44 magnum, they can be topped up on the run and they are fast and light to carry.

No I hadn't. .357 sounds interesting as I already stock .38special. What are some of the options?

Lever: Marlin 1894, Winchester 94 (not a true pistol caliber action), Winchester 92 variants (true pistol caliber actions), Rossi 92 copies.

Pump: Colt Lightning (rare) and its copies (Pietta?), Israeli IVI Timberwolf (rare) takedown.

You can see a bunch of pistol carbines in this old thread.

Never mind guys....it's just become a moot point. My eldest daughter was over for dinner tonight and somehow I'm now taking her to a Fleetwood Mac concert in Boston a week from Saturday. That's at least two gun purchases postponed!

On the other hand....having a 30 year old daughter that still wants to do father/daughter roadtrips....priceless!:D

Hey, at least you can go your own way. ;)

Thanks guys, Rumours was big my last year of HS/freshman year of Uni so those songs are ingrained in my memory. I'm really looking forward to Saturday!

I still plan to get one of these carbines but I think I'll just push the purchase out a month or two.(I need new winter tires this year too so there's another gun purchase deferred :( )

Wainstall's told me they are expecting more Kel-Tecs that use the Glock mags in November (They have SIg mag ones only right now). There seem to be lots of both R and NR CX4's around all of a sudden as well. Ellwood Epps just listed about a dozen or so. I actually prefer the M1 look with wooden furniture but I'm a little leery of Chiappa quality.

Maybe someone will have a pre-Christmas or January sale.;)
