Hello,
I am interested in a lever action rifle in 38/357 cal (chapparal arms). I am wondering what thoes who have them think of them in terms of accuracy and effective range. I would'nt be using it for much more than plinking inside 100yards, and possibly as a bush rifle for deer (maybe). I would be interested to hear any thoughts or opinions on the pistol cal lever rifle.
Thanks

I just bought a nearly new Puma in this calibre. I must warn you that this thing is addictive; I really had a lot of fun at the range! Thus, if you don't already have one, you might also have to buy a progressive reloading press to keep it supplied.
Good luck.

im goin to assume it is so it matches your pistol

i love my 1892 winchester 44-40 and my chapparel arms 1873 revolver in 44-40

i don't know about 357, but my winchester 94 trapper in 44 mag will group quarter sized 3 round groups at 100 yards-with FACTORY ammo- now, i don't know if it was the gun, or the ammo, or the phase of the moon, but that's dam good grouping-

Ruger chambered their little semi-auto in 44 Magnum, and an uncle carried that as his deer and bear rifle for many years. He was also the most successful hunter in camp most of those years.
