Pistol caliber Question

I do like the action of a lever gun as well! They are one of my
Favorite to use . Hmm..

First time I go up the cottage I'm going to bring my 308 and try it out. I'm itching to try it.

I just want an adorable AR style rifle and I'm trying to figure out if the JR carbine, which only comes in handgun calibers, is what I should focus on..

Adorable?... ADORABLE?!?!....

Get out.

Hahah isn't it cool to have an adorable AR rifle? I meant Affordable( damn auto correct), but that made me laugh as well.

Too bad the education system didn't teach you empathy, respect and common courtesy. Those are qualities I hold higher then being able to covert measurements.
Maybe you were to busy making fun of someone else during tht lesson in grade school? I recommend u go back and complete grade school again, because those qualities I listed will be needed more frequently in life then measurement conversion.

Ahhhh, I think we have found one of those touchy, feely, sunny ways Justine Turdo voters.

No, I didn't learn those things in school, because I didn't go to a GIRLS school. One of the school's I went to was the Canadian Armed Forces where nobody gives a #### about your feelings.

Yep, knowing the difference between an inch and a centimeter, a pound or a kilogram or a kilometre and a mile is highly over rated. Nobody needs that kind of info ..... except maybe every single person, every single day. What exactly are they teaching in schools these days?

Don't break this one Hercules.

OP if you are allowed to shoot Coyotes with a 9mm, 40 S&W or .45 ACP go for it, they will do the trick within 150 yards. But for deer and such, i'd stay away from pistol cals. You can kill a deer with a 9mm, 40 S&W and .45 ACP, but it will really limit your range. Were I am, I'm restricted to using any caliber under .275", so those pistol cal's mentioned would be "too big".

Feelings, nothing more than feelings
Trying to forget my feelings of love
Teardrops rolling down on my face
Trying to forget my feelings of love
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it
I wish I've never met you, girl
You'll never come again
Feeling, woo-o-o feeling
Woo-o-o, feel you again in my arms
Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
And feelings like I'll never have you again in my heart
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again
Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
And feelings like I'll never have you again in my life
Feelings, woo-o-o feeling it,
woo-o-o, feeling again in my arms
Feelings

Most deer up north, where the OP is going to be hunting, are killed at distances under 30 yards. If he is going to be set up where he has longer ranges, he owns a .308. Besides, he is new to hunting. He's not likely to make a 300 yard shot on his first deer. Guys who bowhunt drastically reduce their effective range, but most of them kill as many deer as gun hunters because they also change how they hunt. To the OP, if you wanna hunt with with a JR Carbine in any of the mentioned calibers, it's legal and capable of cleanly taking the game you're after, so go for it.

sweet ! I wonder how likely a firearm, like te JR carbine, will be changed to a restricted. That would ruin my fun completely ...

Well - considering you have little to no experience in shooting center-fire or semi-automatic rifles, and seem to have gaping holes in your knowledge of firearms, you may wish to reflect on this purchase for other reasons. Maybe its time to consider other hobbies that can be fun for a fellow your age, such as women and beer...

You gotta shoot them first to have fun..You talk about hunting and you need to setup your rifle to hunt, but its been sitting there un zeroed and you wont zero it for few more months. So how can you hunt if you cannot or don't know if you can hit anything? Because you haven't even taken it out?

I think you need to worry about what you got first and your skills, before you attempt to hunt yote with a 9mm.

Women and beer is fun but I've been over that shat for awhile. I'm tired of seeing alcohol bring the worst out in people and I have a steady gf that wants to move up north wth me. Once I move shooting isn't an issue ...I can go in my backyard and shoot away

I discovered the berrata carbine.... I think if I got anything it would be be THAT!

Don't be afraid to ask questions on CGN, but do try to do a little research before you ask anything: there are plenty of grumpy/rabid badgers around here that delight themselves with jumping on anyone they can put down. The nature of public forums, yes? Doing your research before asking helps to better refine your questions, and also remove some opportunities for the badgers to practice their sneers on you. ;)

It also helps to take the time to post all relevant information available when asking questions.
A vague question with a bunch of replies asking for more details is great for long drawn out threads but getting to the point and posting as much information as you can about your question or issue is the best approach.
