is there a site/thread/whatever where a fella can do some one-stop shopping in terms of getting info/impressions/reviews of some of the pistol calibre carbines available to us?

each one can be searched individually, but if there is a site where i can see some side by side pros&cons of different models...well, that'd be just swell.

would love to get some info re: accuracy, reliability, gremlins etc. for the taurus, usc, jr carbine, sub 2000, storm, and whatever else may be out there.

I've been searching, but can't seem to find much info on non restricted pistol calibre semi auto carbines. Particularly the Just Right (JR). The idea of being able to head out up my local mountain, and shoot something "black", with 10 round mags, is quite appealing to me!! :D

The guys at Epps talked me out of the JR. They said they have many returns for service & or trade ins for other weapons. The apparent customer complaints were rapid fire issues & weapon malfunctions after dry fire.

I really wanted the JR! It's easily modded & that's what I wanted in a new gun, the ability to make it MINE!

Trusting in the Epps boys review I spent a little more & got a non restricted CX4 Storm. Still a great gun but you cant do much to it.

I know it's more money but....

CX4 storm. Get it re barreled to non restricted (go for the bull barrel it looks good). It's very reliable, ergonomics are pretty good (would be awesome without the web and the sight hoods). Handles well, looks good, and breaks down into two equal length pieces with one take down pin. Large metal block action inside. Blow back, simply but effective. I really like mine. It feels like a quality firearm. Tons of fun as well.

there was no fine line between first and second generation JR carbines. Mine had everything BUT the new buffer, this caused some odd feeding issues. a few msgs to the factory and they had a new buffer in the mail. been great ever since. super accurate and it will eat anything and everything.

what is this problem caused by dry firing the JR?

Gen II JR Carbine in .40S&W. Awesome little rig! I love it and shoot it to 100m + regularly.

I also have the CX4 in both 9mm & .45ACP equally nice. No doubt these are great too and I enjoy them equally well but... the added expense to get it rebarreled to NR and the lack of accessories to customize may be a factor for some.

Either of these three will put a big sh*t eating grin on your face.

Regards,

So, I've got another question for some JR owners. They use glock mags, right? Now, have I read, somewhere here, that .40 cal mags will accept 9 mm ammo, and fit in a 9 mm firearm? So, could that make the Jr carbine a 13 shot non restricted semi?
:D

Yes. Same as the Storm. As long as you don't modify the mag. I haven't tried it yet but others have said it works.

??Lack of customization?? I love non-res. cx4 storms. Try brownells; lots of aftermarket parts. For the sierra papa parts pm praetorian for custom orders. Lots of fun.

What I meant was... they have about the same intial price point but then +$$$ to get the CX4 rebarreled to NR. Yeah there are accessories for the CX4's... Houte's has my CCard on constant debit mode but when you look at getting rails grips and butstocks.. the JR one-ups the Storm in this department. As I mentioned this may be an issue / deciding factor for some.

It's all a matter of taste and how tacti-cool you want to look :D
