I was at a USPSA match last year where several competitors entered the new Pistol Calibre Carbine (PCC) Division. It looked like a lot of fun and got me thinking.

I've been doing some preliminary research and I'm tending toward an AR-15 type PCC; one which uses Glock mags.

JP Enterprises has their GMR-15 which looks really great!

I approached a local retailer and it appears that they an bring one in for me for approx $2500 Cdn.

Does anyone know of a similar PCC (AR-15 style - 9mm and uses Glock mags) available in Canada that is not so expensive?

Secondly, what would be an appropriate RDS?

Thanks.

the pistol caliber carbine looks really interesting, especially the fact that 9mm is as cheap as x39 and about 60% the cost of 223.

commonality of magazines means less magazines needed on belt, slimmer mag holders less belt space.... the only downside is long targets, but that is evened out because everyone would take the same penalty for the missed targets..... those that are brave and shoot the long rang steel can really make some time up. (if they hit...)

really interested in the concept.

Check out the new Nordic PCC, looks awesome! Not sure who if anyone will be bringing them into Canada though... Otherwise the JP or the Angstadt guns that have been posted would be my choices.

I have been running a lightly done up JR Carbine (new hand guard, stock etc) for fun. Non restricted is nice but it will never be as competitive as the restricted AR platform rifles due to the mag release and lack of last round hold open IMO.

I looked over as many of the pcc guns at show show as possible. The JP is a top dog in the fight. There are many new contenders here the magwell sets the Jp apart from many.

I run guns has a PSA 9 mm AR that takes glock mags that I have been considering purchasing. It's not too badly priced at $799.99 US currency as an FYI. You can't use it in the US though based on the 10.5" barrel length.

Here's the write up:

This is a custom build, this PSA rifle is a billet lower receiver mated to a Hybrid 10.5" 9mm upper that will accept Glock Magazines. This upper will also work on a standard 9MM lowers due to the Hybrid bolt.

Which retailer?
$2500 for which upper?

Matt a friend of mine in the US has one and they run like a clock. I have the Beretta CX4 Storm in 9MM and it has never had an issue. The gun is capable of way more accuracy than I can manage out to 100 yards. I will be using it in our PCC Division along with a 92A1. Because our club is quite small a couple of us will double up and shoot early then late in a squad. Once with our pistol and once with our carbine. Nothing at stake so nobody cares about the scoring other than we all enjoy ourselves. I suspect the IPSC/USPSA version might be more intense.

Take Care

We'll be importing Trojan Firearms guns later this year, working through the paperwork process now.

Only PCC that uses a STI / SVI / MBX Mag - which work REALLY well with an AR Platform.

They're not going to be cheap - but they're very nice...

There's also a glock mag option which well get too.
