Hey guys, I am starting my own buisness of makeing custom made rifle, shotgun and pistol cases. I am not an IPSC shooter so I am asking for imput as to what you guys want in a pistol cases. Also equitment, number of mags, and amount of ammunition you would take to a match would be great. Looking forward to your imput.
Thanks

A CR Speed or DAA Belt, 5 Mag Pouches, 6 Magazines, 2 times the ammo required for the match (eg. Require 100 than bring 200):)

A pistol case for me must look nice and function. Slim and good enough to protect a single or two pistol.

What are they made of ?......any pics? or prices?

Hard case? If so, add wheel and extension handle. Got to have room for at least 300 rds of ammo, ear, eye protection, comp belt with 5 mag pouch, cleaning and armorer's kit, paper slot, speedloader, two handguns, bug spay slot, water bottle slot, knee pads...

Did I forget anything?

You can divide them in two.
One type for pistols only and second for pistols and components.

For me, (and I go through customs from time to time) slimmest possible case for two pistols with combination lock, not key. Handle retracting backwards into the slot so it is not sticking out. Last, must be approved for air travel.

Thanks

+1 for a slim case to fit 2 guns of Production or Standard type. Though I'd prefer an external lock, which could be a combination or key.
The closest to ideal case I found so far is this medium size one inner size 300 x 220 x 90cm and outer size 33 x 28 x 12cm for 49EUR

All wheels, handles and other stuff don't belong to a gun case, there is a range bag or a backpack for that and it doesn't need to be a hard case. Besides, you are not supposed to transport your guns and the ammo in the same bag or case.

Look at the Brownells catalog. They offer a variety of soft range bags and soft cases for pistol, rifle, shotgun, and 3-gun. They also carry California Competition Works' magazine cases, which are excellent and which come in a variety of sizes and colours.

This would be your competition, should you enter the business. If you want to do well, your product would have to be as good or better than these quality products. (Good luck.)

Rather than trying to compete directly with (products that are essentially equivalent to quality products already available from) established companies, you could instead focus on new products for a growing market. I refer to IPSC 3-Gun and USPSA Multigun. Many 3-Gun shooters - myself included - are still struggling under the load of guns and gear involved and would be happy to find a better way to manage this gear from home to vehicle, from vehicle into hotel, from hotel to vehicle, from vehicle to stage, from stage to stage, to stage...etc.

There is a market there.
