never used one of these and can't comment on the quality, I do have several Pelican cases, some more than 5 years old and have seen all kinds of weather and dusty environments including sand. They are still running like new. Most of my cases have little wheels and they all still roll regardless of what I do with them, that includes sand. They are awesome.

I am skeptical about these. There is nothing free in life... but I might be wrong...

They had the larger ones (16x12x6.5") on for $25 just after Christmas and I bought 2 of those. 3 pistols and 15 magazines fit very nicely into one. When they have a sale, you can get some good kit at great prices. They are not Pelican cases, but are close. They more expensive ones are nearly identical. The ones I bought have a little more flex in the cases, but are still very good quality.

I'm new to all this so not familiar with most cases, do they come with the foam or do you but the empty shell and have to set it up with foam?

I don't know if new Pelicans are made in China, but the quality it not what it used to be, and judging by the smell, neither are the plastics. So we might as well buy the knockoffs, they're probably made in the same factory!

I have a pelican and one of those 16 in version. The princess auto are very good quality for the price you pay. I use the princess auto for pistol and it works great as I don't bang the case around.

I use my pelican case when I travel with my tools (aircraft mechanics +- 4000$) I flew the pelican maybe 80-100 times. And it is still in perfect shape minus some scratch made.by the throwers (bags handlers).

I don't believe the princess auto case can take even the third of the abuse. But for carrying to pistol to and from range in my truck, it will last me probably a lifetime.

This ^^^^ I would like to know as well

I have the large one from Princess Auto. It comes with the top foam in the lid (as pictured in twoicebergs' post) and 3 layers of foam in the bottom of the case, 2 solid and 1 pick-and-pluck.

They come with pluckable foam. I have the mid sized one (16x12x6.5 set up to carry 4 pistols. ( I carry the spare mags in my range bag) The only downside to the medium size is that it won't carry a 6" barrel revolver in that configuration.

They seem quite sturdy and well made....especially when compared with some of the cheaper pistol cases. I have a 2 gun sized Flambeau that I paid $29.95 for at a LGS. It is a POS compared to the Princess Auto stuff.

Hate the throwers... My pelican cases (specialy my Long range rifle case) look like they've been to Kandahar and back, the exterior damage is pretty impressive but they still keep the goodies safe and that's what counts.

I have and I can. They are not as good as Pelican, just as you would expect. At the sale price most of us will be satisfied with what we get.
