Does anyone know where to buy a good pistol case.
I have 3 pistols that I regularly pack to the range
and am tired of packing them in their cheapo factory boxes.
Suggestions would be great.
I'm thinking Pelican should make one or maybe a lockable bag with inserts.
All I can find in my area are inexpensive plastic no better really than the factory boxes.
I pack 1 SW 629 5 inch
1 Ruger Vaquero 51/2 inch.
1 Ruger 22/45 4.5 inch.
Thanks Mutt

Check Princess Auto under "waterproof tool boxes" ..they have three sizes ($25-$70)..they are close copies of the Pelican cases at a fraction of the cost

Hello Gunguy
I like the idea of this seahorse ,can you fit revolvers in it?
I have a 5 inch 629 and 5.5 Vaquero the Ruger 22/45 is 4.5 and should not be a problem.
Thanks Mutt

Just google Seahorse cases, they make a bunch. However, the one i got that holds 4 pistols will not hold my revolvers. Have a 629 in 4.2 inch and a 627 in 5 inch. They wont fit, i had to cut and modify the case to get them to fit. The one i have is basically built for 4 semi auto pistols, 12 mags and a spot for ammo. They do make them that fit revolvers, guess you just have to call Wolverine Supplies and ask before you order, that was my mistake.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Much appreciated.
I will checkout that case at CT
Thanks Mutt

For $24.48 on sale now, you can't beat it. If it doesn't work, it didn't cost much. Check out the reviews, people use it for everything. I'm going to buy another one myself. I have tons of Pelican Pick n Pluck foam at home.

Fits the 8 3/8 Bull.

I bought a Seahorse. The one I got works great if you have just pistols and no revolvers. Its set up to hold 4 pistols and 12 magazines. They all face muzzle down, its called a Seahorse quickdraw case. Everything is allready cut out of the foam. The latches lock with a key as well you can pad lock the case.

This. Its deep including the cover that you can easily open and close it. The foam are easy to carve out. I scored the surface with xacto knife and used my finger to dig and separate the foams. I can comfortably fit 4 pistols on upper half and bottom half 4 mags each. There are 2 holes on the outside to install locks. However, I purchased mine from IRG for as low as sixty bucks.

I just bought the maxpedition soft pistol case. I can fit my 226, my usp & 1911 all in there and it only takes up the same amount of space as one factory box.

See if you can track down a dedicated camera shop. They often stock hard cases like pelican or similar makes. These are people that pack around tens of thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment so they would definitely know what cases work better then others.

Picked up a good , all purpose case at Cabelas. Made by Impact case and Container, model 3616. Will hold my short carbines with scopes or all my handguns at once with ammo. The website they have is quite impressive, good protection.
