Pistol ID - Alex Colville

[Gao]

I recently found an art book at an used book store on Canadian artist Alex Colville. The cover had this painting, and I can't seem to find anyone mentioning the target pistols make. Hammerli 208 possibly?

Alex Colville, Target Pistol and Man, 1980.

It might appear again in this other painting:

Alex Colville, Target Shooting, 1990.

I feel like his depiction of firearms has above average detail, inviting the right viewer to identify them immediately. His other famous works:

Alex Colville, Pacific, 1967 (The movie Heat makes a homage to this)

Alex Colville, In the woods, 1976

Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving

Pacific features a BHP.

Again thanks for the replies. The lack of (and sometimes completely wrong information online) on this specific detail of his work was bothering me so I made my first post on substack. Enjoy

Colville's Woman with Revolver features a S&W Bodyguard but the actual painting maybe NSFW here. Google to your hearts desire.
