Hey I am hoping to utilize the huge wealth of knowledge on this forum to see if anyone can help identify the caliber of this pistol my friend acquired through from an estate.
I have attached 2 pictures. He thought possibly a WW2 pistol, as it came from his grandfather.
9mm seems to fit but is too large for the magazine. You can get one in the mag, but thats it. The cartridge is too big to push multiple rounds down into the mag.
Any help would be great appreciated.

Pre-WW2 FN 1922, made sometime between 1932-1940. Can you post clearer pictures of the proof marks? As Light Infantry said, .32 ACP (7.65x17mm) or .380 ACP (9mm Kurz/Short, 9x17mm). If 9mm Luger (9x19mm) is fitting the magazines its probably in .380 ACP. Clearer pictures would help though
