Pistol loads in a 358 Winchester

I tested pistol bullets in my .356 Win., which is similar to the .358, and accuracy was not what it should be. I think it was the long jump to the rifling, but accuracy was not sufficient for even 100 yd. shooting. When i went to 200gr. and 250gr. bullets accuracy returned and both bullets were accurate enough for sil. work out to 200yds. The cast 250 gr. Gc bullets were most accurate and inexpensive for range use, and my choice for hunting with the .356.

I have loaded pistol bullets in 35 rem, 356, 358 and 35 Whelen. I bought a few boxes of 200 gr total metal jacket (flat nose) for that purpose. I like to use 2400 for loading pistol bullets in a rifle case.

I use them to practice shooting standing at 25 to 50 yards, as a tune up for hunting season. Good enough for that.

for my 358, I load 158 HP bullets over 6 grains of GreenDot, velocity is around 850. Very accurate out to 50-60 yards then it starts to drop too much
