We're thinking of getting some AR15 lowers that are pistol lowers...IE they are registered as pistols. Price will be around $100....NEA brand....forged. Would there be any interest in these?

Forgive my inexperience with the registry technicalities...

But what are the implications of having a lower marked 'pistol' or 'multi-cal' or anything else?

This is just for aesthetic purposes? You can still build a rifle of any calibre from a pistol lower with no issues.. correct?

This stuff always seems to get the people at the CFC confused..lol I have had soo much trouble dealing with them to get a custom AR registered... aargh!

Not to split hairs, but I see they are listed under "modern military rifles"... Shouldn't they be listed under "handguns" (?).

You know, seems how they are a "pistol" and all.

Actually, I have the same question.
I'm pretty sure that we don't need to registered custom AR build, as long as your lower is registered already.
But what's the whole point of "Pistol" on the lower means?
