Hey there,

I'm having some trouble with a Norinco NP22 (sig 226 copy).

It seems that I can't get the slide off. The take-down lever turns, but the slide still won't come off. The pistol shoots fine.

The only change made to the gun was to add a recoil buffer, and I don't know whether or not this might be part of the problem.

I live in a remote area, and gun smiths are few and far between.

any suggestions?

Thanks

When you turn the disassembly lever down is the action back and the hold open lever engaged?

Also the disassembly lever only needs a quarter turn clock wise. not a half or full turn or the slide will not release.

The lever starts, pointing at 3oclock stop at 6. and it should slide right off as you release the slide stop.

The norc's are a bit tight.

After you flip the lever are you pulling back on the slide to disengage it then letting it go forward to take it off?

I wouldn't be surprized to find that you've got a chunk of recoil buff stuck somewhere, contributing to your problem....
You might have to take it in and have a smith take a look at it.
By the way, even if the buff isn't the problem...don't use them..they're just another cause of malfunctions and the gun was designed to work without them.

I don't know, they work great in my 1911 and came with it installed by a very competent gunsmith with a good rep.
