pistol stance

As a new handgun shooter myself I have no advice to offer, but 12" groups at 25 yards is nothing to be too ashamed of first time out. It took me an hour to get down to 3" groups... at 5 yards :/

It's definetly not as obvious or as easy at it seems at first is it. In fact I'd say it's harder to be a good pistol shooter than a good rifle shooter.

My own first time out wasn't much, if any, different than yours.

I shoot modified Weaver to 15 yards and then go to a bench rest for further distances. There are darn few shooters that can shoot little bitty groups at 25 yards from a standing position. Regards, Richard:)

PS the best I have ever done was a 1/2 " group at 25 yards off a bench. I was shooting a 45 Colt S&W M25 and the group scared the hell out of me:D

Define "little bitty groups".

The other night I shot 5 rounds of .38 Spl+P from my Model 19 revolver at 18 yards (the max length of the range) standing and two handed and managed to keep them within less than a 3 inch circle. More like 2 inches in fact. Yeah it was my personal best and I seemed to be in the "Zone" that night but it can be done with some practice.... something like 4000 rounds of practice in all calibers at this point.... :D

What happened to the 6th round you ask? I thought I was done and ejected the last live one onto the bench..... so much for my COUNTING skills. Other folks can better this but for my old guy eyes and shakey hands I was very pleased.
