Hi Was at range today and oldtimer brought out three Pistols he wants to sell, I had told him i would take some photo,s and inquire what he might expect to get.any help would be nice.

Smith & Wesson top break in .32cal 5 shot.

Luger S-42 1937 Original case and clip tool one clip he said he did not think clip was original,gun shoots fine, also in very nice condition.

Looks like all 3 are prohibited pistols.

Ticks me off with the Luger. I've always wanted one. They are a very nice pistol. The long barreled models just don't look right.

The Luger might be worth a fair amount. The problem is you need a lot of research and proof to tell if it's worth a lot or not much.

Did this "old timer" say where the Luger came from? He didn't have a German accent did he? :D Or on the other side, perhaps he was part of a tank crew? Some Lugers got into the country after tank crews captured German officers. Surprisingly enough the Officers always threw the firearm into the bushes and at the time of capture it was never found.:p
