Pistols Issued to the RHKP

The ones sold in Canada by Century were Colt Police Positive Specials, but were in .38 S&W. They were available with both 2" and 4" barrels.

I know a dealers who have two consecutive # Colt 1908 in .380ACP. He is asking $900 for the pair www.zefarm.net They look pretty good too.

Those would be "Shanghai Municipal Police" marked? Al the ones I've seen were pretty crudely reblued.
These and some 1911s were purchased in the 1920s.

Quite a few ex Hong Kong S&W M10 M&P revolvers were surplused into the US. Besides ex RHKP, the ex HK Customs revolvers had C&E (Customs & Excise) engraved on the receiver.

RHKP phased out their M1 Carbine when they switched to AR15 in the 70's.

I served in the RHKP and we were issued the Colt Police Positive in .38 SW. In about 1983 we switched over to the Smith and Wesson in .38 special. CID officers were issued the Colt Detective Special in .38 special. SDU and other elite units had the Sig P 226 in 9mm. Post 1997 (I think ) the force switched to semis throughout but I am not sure of the model.

I have a Parked Colt RHKP in .38 S&W with the lanyard ring. Nice gun, I never shoot it. Timing needs a bit of work but works awesome when used double action only. Neat piece of history.
