Whew, okay. We'll see how it works out.
Next hurdle though, I've just been informed that the mount won't come with screws. Can you pick these up at a hardware store?
The factory AK mount rails were meant to be riveted on (no, not the pop rivets, but the real rivets--the ones you hammer or press in). I could be mistaken, but if this is the case, you'll need rivets of approx 5/32" diameter and of appropriate length.
You could try to get these holes (in the rail) threaded for whatever diameter screws would fit, and then screw them in from the inside of the receiver to the outside and into the mount for a "press fit".
Placement would be important for these screws not to interfere with internal parts. There isn't as much room as like an AK I've found. Maybe you can screw in from the outside (mount) to the inside of the receiver, but you'll need to countersink the holes so that the heads don't interfere with the mounting of the rail.
I'm sure a qualified gunsmith/machinist can make this work for you, as others on Gun Nutz have mounted these kind of rails on their Vz's. Just FYI, if it can't work, I thought that at one time Interammo had rails that were meant to be screwed in/mounted. They looked pretty good, and were closer in appearance to the real (and seldom seen) Czech Army rails. Although they are no longer on their website. Hopefully, they'll get more in.
