God I love the look of all these thumb hole stocks I keep seeing on here.
Is there an online shop that carries stocks for various models? I still haven't decided which .22 I am going to buy, might even go for a .17 HMR....who knows.

Hey there CyaN1de and welcome to CGN!

It really depends on what gun you are going to get. Thumbhole stocks are mainly made for the more popular guns like the 10/22 and the 77/22.

For the .17 you can get a thumbhole stock for the Marlin 917 .17 and one of the Savage models comes with a thumbole and accutrigger.

go to bits of pieces .com. Also take a look at Richards microfit, Revival industires and the boydes websites. It will give you an idea of whats out there.

Get ready for some work. I have 1 of those and it was 12 hrs of sanding and 2 weeks of finishing. But I liked doing it and it was fun. Revival stocks are all finished and ready to go out of the box.

Oh, I didn't realize that they didn't come finished. I did see their "Finishing Kit" which should have made the sirens go off. I was thinking it was more along the lines of a Final oiling rather than a full oil finish. Do you have any pics? Which rifle did you get it for?

Here is both. A micro fir and a revival

Wow, nice  Thanks for the pics jayz.

Here's the 1/2 million dollar question..... since both are quite similar in design, if you had to choose between the two, which would you choose and why? ie. Comfort, looks or whatever.

The reason I ask is that the Micro's finger grooves looks like it would be much more comfortable to hold over the non grooved Revival.

depends what you want to do with it. The riv is lighter and is a good field gun. The micro fit is heaver for shooting of the bench.
