I want to get a flintlock muzzle loader and was wondering if anyone has some good recommendations of places where one might purchase such a gun, preferably online would work best for me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I recently bought a Brown Bess reproduction from Loyalist Arms out East. Fantastic customer service, highly recommend them. I get my accessories from Track of the Wolf, great selection, no shipping hassles.

You looking for a cheapy one like a lyman, a kit that you build yourself, or one thats fully together thats of high quality andis gonna cost a pair ammount.
cheapy lymans can be got at most hunting stores, la barons.
kits can be got from Track of the wolf (its in the states), Pecatonica river (us) and for one up here Clark Industries he is in ontario and been building kits for a number of years, very nice rifles has a webpage google him. im not sure if he will build it for you or not.
i also think you can get prebuilts from track.

There is nothing wrong with the Lyman rifles. They make a good rifle for the price. I have been using a .50 cal Lyman Deerstalker for the past 16 years, and it has filled at least one tag a season. I liked it so much that I just got a new Lyman Trade rifle in .54, just because I wanted a .54, not because I needed a new rifle.
Got to agree with Snowshoe . Lyman makes very good muzzleloaders , actually the company is Investarms of Italy and Lyman imports them . The metal to wood fit is very good, better than some Pedersolis that cost more . The locks have good springs and are reliable. The Lyman Great Plains series are nicely proportioned but you pay for the style rather than an upgrade in components. The Lyman Trade rifle is a sleeper.
