hey all....
for the last ,i can,t count how many years  we have had our yearly moose and deer hunting trip,s :D with a lot of game taken..
for next year,i would like to extend and share with other,s a few hunting outing,s..
for example the area we hunt deer in we do not bow hunt(bobgageon)...so why not i let a few bow hunter,s use it :D same goes for bear there...
lets get a bunch togeather and share and explore new hunting area,s for all of us...lets plan some day trips as well as a couple of day,s..
so if you want to hunt......duck /goose/rabbit/grouse/deer/bear/moose or what ever..does not matter if your a pro hunter or a newbie :D
lets all share our hunting land,s and skill,s
cheers all
Don

I have some property up in WMU 42 (Ontario) and I was thinking of doing a bear hunt up there next year, similar to what you did this year. A few of the guys I hunt with here in the Guelph area are interested. How did your hunt go? Is there anything you would do different the next time?

yup would spend more time in the planning of it..
this past fall was on a two week,s notice ,but you know it was that hunt that got this idea in my head..our main hunting area s in 60a..
what do you think?? can we swap some hunting grounds?
but the main idea of my plan is to share new hunting area,s and to include some new hunter,s to the sport..

I'm sure we could arrange to share hunting grounds. I don't really hunt much up at my farm, I stay closer to home (Guelph). The bear hunt you did was a great idea, I wish I didn't already have plans that weekend. None of the guys I hunt with has ever hunted bear (including me) and I would put up an invitation on the board here as well. I was thinking I might try for a week long hunt (drive up on the Friday, return the following Sunday). Guys could come for either weekend or during the week or stay for the whole thing depending on thier schedule. We are definitely going to want some experienced guys along, but newbies will be welcome as well. By the way, in WMU 42 you can hunt with a rifle on Sunday, which will be a bonus for guys who can only make one weekend. Anybody who is interested in coming out next year let me know.

working man.....with a bit of planning and a bit of scoutting :D im sure we can up with a few good hunts
we have a year to plan it all...can you get to your hunting ground,s around mid winter?if you want we can set up a walk to check out each others area,s around then...just to scout around and to get the feel of each others area,s
cheer,s

That sounds like a plan Fog. Bring your shotgun and the hound in your avatar and we'll call it a rabbit hunt. Leave the coon at home. LOL.
a rabbit hunt :D gawd ive not been or eating one in age,s :D this is sounding like a great plan already :D

would love to join someone on a bear hunt next year i been hunting crown land with no success up in 63a since sept 1 i pretty much givin up on being able to fill my tag this year

PM sent back to you Signguy. For anybody else interested, I won't start making any definite plans till late spring or early summer, because I can't plan that far ahead. Probably looking for the hunt to be sometime in September. Drop me a PM with your contact info if your interested, I'm starting a list. Just don't expect to hear much till spring.

There are no caliber restrictions in WMU 42, you can use whatever you want. The terrain ranges from wide open fields to bush so dense you can only see a few yards ahead. I'll likely be using my old No4 Enfield with a 2-7x32 scope.

I just checked the regs, Canuck and it doesn't look good for non-residents of Ontario. Non-residents must hunt with a licensed tourist operator (outfitter) unless you are hunting with an immediate relative who is licensed to hunt bear or own property in Ontario in a WMU that has an open season for bear. Unless you have an immediate family member in Ontario who is interested as well, it looks like your out of luck. Its too bad, it would be good to get some guys from outside of Ontario as well.
