Anyone shot plated out of there tanfoglio or stock 2? I have had excellent results with some Speer Plated 147gr combat masters ammo.....grouped better than Montana gold 147gr combat masters ammo....
I was shooting at a bullseye practice......I really don't think it was me,...as later results showed the same trend....

Yup.. the plated ammo seems to work better out of the poly barrel of the tanfo's . (and cheaper too). a lot of people have noticed this.

weird!,...but in a good way. It is usually the opposite, I have about 2000 loaded rounds of SPeer plated, I think I will keep this for match's and use the MG for practice (usually the other way around)

I shot only plated out of my Standard guns and am now shooting only plated through my Open guns (Tanfos). They work/ed great in both so I doubt you would have any issues shooting them out of a Stock II.

Hey Rob,

Where are you getting the Speer stuff from and any idea on pricing?

E.
I haven't been using Speer. Excel located in Etobicoke; they work great in the Tanfo polygonal barrels. I think he's has them at around $65/M now, as raw materials have gone up. Maybe less for bulk orders, but I'll be finding out in the next week or tow since I'm pretty much out of stock.

Mo could probably get you contact info for the Speer if you want to try them....?

I get all my stuff from Kurt at Canadian BDX,...he is making up some Speer loaded ammo this week,...I have claimed 10,000 of it. The Montana Gold ammo he has is good stuff as well. I don't think his Speer stuff is advertised. IF you order from him, best to do it in bulk,....ie: 5000+ pieces. His ammunition's brass is most times new, so you can reload it,...as the pressure is less than factory ammo....

I shoot Gold Dot Hollowpoints, and the TMJ for practice. Be neat to try the plated ones, but they aren't available out here in BC.
