Play the milsurp ammo ID challenge!

Awww crap ! Can't we put so sense back into that thru ministerial intervention ? As I recall there is supposed to be a "gun friendly" government in power as we speak, which has the power (at least on paper) to reign in those unelected bureaucrats.

Small arms ammo testing and approval is a sham. Don't get me started. Our system is set up for high explosives, and applied to ammo. It amounts to a way to stop cheap ammo from coming into Canada. Ostensibly it is set up to ensure safety, but in reallity you cannot really test for that because most safety issues are with bad lots of approved ammo.

The current draft of the new rules includes the following:

- No tracer
- No corrosive or mercuric primers
- Each cartridge must be marked with calibre and makers mark.

These are just back door ways to stop surplus ammo.

Latest guess is 7.62x25 AP subsonic. The case has the exact preportions as the tok, but with a M43 type bullet. I am guessing experimental, maybe for a supressed TT33 or subgun? I did here word of a Chinese subsonic load for SMGs.

Found it - I am going with Chinese type-64 7.62x25mm

Intersting there is not lead envelope over the steel, must be intersting pressures.

The more I learn about the tok round the more I want an M1 carbine in X25
