Playing favourites - Which guns in your safe get gun socks for protection?

No gun sox in the vault. Each gun has their own slot, all 208 of them.lol However, the pretty ones do get displayed on the display shelf but they are switched up ever so often depending on the theme I want to go with. It's western this time around so I have some commemorative Winchesters, some Mare's leg and a couple of SA revolvers ATM.

Used to be only my Holland & Holland 20g, but I sold it a few years ago. It was a good shotgun and counted for many grouse when Bartell and I went hunting! :)

I put all my guns in cases and then put them in my safe. Makes it pretty easy when going to the range, just grab the case and go. My firearms that I purchased new, still look new, I am pretty careful with my things.

Mine are tools. I care for them, clean em and use them. Honestly nothing I own is so valuable to me that I worry about nicks. Like a man, scars build character. Lol

Guns are like children or pets. Nobody wants to admit that they have their favourites...................

Which guns in your cabinet(s) get the extra protection of a gun sock to protect them from the inevitable "safe kisses"?

Two of my socked rifles are collectibles: IMI Timberwolf and the M-S 1903.

One of them is a work camp rifle so I have no idea of why I have a sock over it: BRNO 602.

The last one is my big game hunting rifle: BRNO 600.

I think the common theme is they all have nice wood but then again so do my 1895GS, CZ 455 and my Henry .357.

Maybe it's their age...................

I was fortunate to obtain one of those IMI Timberwolves in 357 Magnum back in about 1990'ish.
It was in brand new condition as well. All I can say is that they can shoot silly accurate! Love the rifle! This little carbine will shoot cast 190 grain Ranch dog flat points into 1/2" groups at 50 yards!
That translates into a delirious amount of fun on a gopher field! LOL!

I can vouch with gun socks that are silicone impregnated, but I also respray them once a year with Chesterson spray silicone. I have my Cooper's, S&L 358NM and Ruger redlabel in these for over 5years with no I'll affect, and my guns are not banged up for a measly $10 a gun sock!
I also spray silicone regular gunsocks, with great success, no rust ever, but I do a safe inventory a few times a year to make sure nothing is growing on the metal!

Agree for the price gun socks worth it! Additional spray and check definitely a good idea!

I keep all my rifles and shot guns in socks. turn them inside out and Silicon spray them at least twice a year. No rust on any of my guns for 20+ years of storage in an un-heated garage in northern alberta. For me it's more about the moisture protection than the safe kisses.

I don't wear socks when I'm sleeping in my bed; why on earth would I put socks on my guns in the safe?

The nicer ones...or the ones I think I might be selling...go into safes that are sparsely populated and have lots of room; they are practicing social distancing in there. :) The users, beaters, oldsters, etc. go into various other safes and cabinets around the house. Most of those are overcrowded, with guns standing every which way, breathing on each other, swapping stories and behaving irresponsibly.
