I don't have my license yet, but I do have my RPAL and some guns. I haven't done CORE yet mostly because I don't have the time, but I'm hoping to do it this winter.

What sort of things will I be able hunt around the Lower Mainland?

I'd like to start out small. Big game are out of the question at the moment since I don't have anywhere to store carcasses and I don't have a truck. I'm hoping maybe I could go out and get some rabbits or something though. Will I need tags for those? What other small game are good around here?

I dont know about right in the lower mainland, but if you drive just an hour or two, go up the coquilhalla towards merrit, at the highway split after hope look for signs that say Caroline Mines. Nice quiet logging area. Deer grouse etc.

I dont live in BC anymore, my dad and I used to go there.

Waterfowl, eastern cottontail bunnies (shotgun only of course) in the Fraser valley. Deer, black bear and the odd grouse in the hills past Chilliwack & Mission. Unless you are hunting the cut blocks, the bush is thick and very wet in the fall. Too many guys running around in quads & 4x4's on the weekends to do any serious hunting. I have not hunted this area in years so it could be better or worst now. I prefer the much drier interior were my honey hole is. For hunting BC, check out this forum:

Waterfowl (note that it is spelled with a "W")

Forget small game. You're not in Ontario.

Think deer and bear. You don't have to store it, just cool it and cut it up and freeze it.
