Hey, so, I understand why the theory behind the 4 dot as they illustrate it on the site, 200yards,300,400 ballistics for .223 however, what about the 2 dot. Should it not specify somewhere what yardage that second dot is for?

It should, I imagine its the same range settings as the four dot just with 2 less dots. I couldn't find any info on their website but I'm sure it comes with and I'm sure if you google it you can find the answer. Personally, its a short range optic, one dot is plenty and good hits to 200 are easy as pie. IF you shoot further, get a different more appropriate optic.
