I especially like the open pistol grip design, my McMillans, 3 of them, tend to crowd the hand close to the trigger guard. That 6X36 is an underappreciated optic on a big game rifle.

Well, yes and no.
It is relative of the place where the hunting is done IMHO. FOV beats the power of the scope every time.
In the Saskatchewan that might be the case.
Here in BC all of my big game scopes have FOV of more than 30ft/100yds, usually way more than that.
Even straight power 4x Leupold has FOV of only 24ft/100yds.

If you are the type that can't find something in your scope you have an arguement. If not, the FOV of the fixed 6 is plenty. Even at 20'.

Why does everyone want a pat on the head with any conversation these days? Truth is the truth. I'm not sure why you expect it to be sugar coated.

So why did you make the thread?..... I like your rifle....... I doubt that that fact will provide solace for you...... And doubt that you are seeking it........

It's a rifle like any other, we all have them....... But I am interested in where the "build" will go....... Always up for learning something new if it's available......
